Waitrose has started trialling a 'bring your own box' scheme at its Botley Road store in Oxford. The 'Waitrose unpacked' initiative is encouraging consumer to ditch plastic and unnecessary packaging in favour of using their own containers to help minimise their carbon footprint. The scheme includes products such as cereals, pasta, rice, washing up liquid, and even wine and beer! Consumer are getting more and more aware of the importance environmental sustainability when it comes to what they're buying, so hopefully the trial will justify a full roll out to all stores. Well done Waitrose for taking a lead with this fantastic initiative!
